There are reasons why some people succeed and many fail with an MLM home based business. They can range from the investment in time and money needed to the amount of knowledge or training it takes to make it.
An obvious reason but one many people don’t give enough consideration to is the actual product or service they’re marketing. Just because you like the product or because the earning potential is tremendous doesn’t ensure that a lot of others will feel the same way.
It’s very important to conduct some research before getting involved in any MLM business. Don’t just look at the company website. Look at reviews not affiliated with what the company is putting out.
Look at other companies with similar products. Try to get a feel for whether people like or dislike the product and not just the company. A Company could be getting bad reviews but it may just be how they conduct their business. The same type of product with another company could be doing very well.
If you rarely use the product or find that it’s inferior than you will have a difficult time promoting it adequately. You must be able to walk the walk before you can talk the talk. On the other hand if you really like the product and get great results from it your enthusiasm will be sincere.
Next is the training and the potential for gaining the necessary knowledge about the company and products. The best companies are very up front about what they have to offer for training.
At the very least you should be able to get online self training through audio and video. It’s even better if there are training calls you can partake in that enable you to ask a live person questions with real time answers.
The sooner you’re able to give proper training and expertise to those that you bring into your MLM home based business the sooner your business will see success. So make sure that the MLM you’re considering offers some quality training and thorough information.
Probably the main reason most people fail with an MLM is due to a lack of planning. Without a well thought out plan of attack it’s nearly impossible to have consistent success. It’s kind of like going on a vacation without planning. It’s doomed for failure.
A good plan incorporates every phase of the business and how much time you will spend on them. For example prospecting and recruiting is a necessary part of succeeding in MLM. But if you don’t have any type of plan or routine for doing it you will certainly fail in this area.

This is a great post, and definitely provides some useful tips about the importance of due diligence.
Unfortunately, I think a lot of people who don’t realize the level of success they’re searching for within the MLM industry….. probably missed a step or two of the excellent points you’ve raised in this article.
